Hey everyone, welcome back to another post from yours truly! My name is Ryan and I'm a Sophomore at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. For those of you who have never been on here to read what I've written, welcome! It is an honor to get your time and energy for a few moments of your time today! For those of you who have been keeping up with me and what I've been up to, welcome back! I'm so glad to have some dedicated readers! Well, let us get to it! Oh and if you did not know, I put pugs throughout this blog. It's been a while folks. I know, I know, Ryan, a month is way too long for you to not write anything, what gives? Well, I'll tell you! I write when I get the energy and urge to do so. Sometimes that is every month, every week, even a couple days back to back. This is a blog not necessarily made for continuity, but for quality. Quality over Quantity, is that the right saying? I think it is. My life has been a whirlwind this Winter Quarter at D...

Hey there everyone! My name is Ryan Hebert and this is my blog! If you have been here before, welcome back! It is such a pleasure to have you back here! If you're new here, WELCOME! You'll notice a stream of pugs on my blog as you're reading, this is to entertain those that might not want to read every single letter I put on this page, so enjoy if you're that type of person. If you do read every letter I write and enjoy the pugs, I'm so glad to hear that! Without further ado, let's get started! This past Saturday I had a number of wonderful beginnings for myself. I went to go see my first TTS show of the year this weekend. I got to see the romantic and saddening production of Seven Homeless Mammoths Wander New England . This production featured a fantastic ensemble of six actors. Each one of them should feel accomplished and proud of what they put on. I had various friends and community members speaking on the excellence of this show. It was definitely a sh...

HEY, everybody! I'm so glad you're back to read another post today! If you are new here, welcome! My name is Ryan Hebert. I am going to be a Sophomore at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. I am currently writing on July 4th, 2017, and I am so excited to fill all of you in on what has been going on in the last month or so since school has ended! Let's get started! Finals Week: Finals week was probably the worst part of the school year for me. It was not the tests, projects, or super long essays. I actually had a horrible case of Pneumonia that left me in a horrible state. I could not walk down the street. It was really bad. I am so thankful that Izzy, my beautiful girlfriend, was coming to visit and help me move out of my dorm. This was planned ahead of time and also happened to be a blessing for me. Izzy arrived on the Tuesday of that week. I went to the doctor the day before and they told me I had a Cold with flared Asthma symptoms. I was doubtful, but I was going ...

This year has gone by so fast, I don't know where it went. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I'm almost a college sophomore. That's pretty weird to think about! I'm so happy that I made it through this first year, and I cannot wait for next year. For all of you out there who are going to college and reading this, BE EXCITED. College is soooo much fun! I probably had the best college experience I could have ever imagined having. Now some last things on college for freshman year: The last quarter has felt very different from the other ones. There is very li...

Most of my friends are escaping the clutches of higher education and starting their summers within a couple weeks while I am here till the beginning of June. Jeez.. it kinda feels like I'm back in high school. LOL. Anyways, I am thrilled and also so very sad that my freshman year is just about over. Me trying to enjoy the next 5 weeks I have been here for 2 1/2 sessions out of the 3 total main sessions there are for classes. I have about 5-6 weeks left and that means I need to really enjoy all the time I have left. This year I have met countless friends and lifelong connectio...

Hey, y'all! Welcome back to Acting in the Groove with your writer, Ryan B. Hebert, and gamer, Ryan (Pb) Hebert. For all of you who do not know me, I am a current freshman at DePaul University, studying at the fabulous, The Theatre School. Thanks for stopping by to do a little bit of reading today! Let's get started! It is now Sunday, which means that Spring Break is coming to a close and that I am 10 weeks away from Summer! AHHH! So much to do in such little time, am I right? I am so sad that my freshman year is coming to a close, but I am so excited at the same time.  Chicago has been amazing, and I love DePaul so much! I also cannot wait to meet the new freshman that come in next year as freshmen. My hope is that I can get back to doing some shows next year since I will not have my mandatory crew assignment anymore. (BTW the crew assignment could be a number of jobs for shows that are unpaid labor, it is what freshmen are most useful for).  I do have one more a...

Greetings, peoples of the universe! Welcome back to Acting in the Groove! I'm Ryan, and for all of you who have never read this blog before, welcome! Thanks for being here to do a little reading today. I am so excited to write about all of my experiences in the past months. So without further ado, let us get started!  After what seemed to be a long first quarter, I finally left for Boston at the end of November. I was finally ready to go home after a thrilling first quarter. Immediately after two days at home, my sleep schedule fell back into order and I was tired before 12 AM. It was a blessing and a curse at the same time. But most of all, I was brought together again with my darling Izzy. My mother's partner, Donna, and I pulled up to Dunkin Donuts, where Izzy had been waiting for almost an hour since the plane was slightly late.  We pull up to the lot and I don't know what to do. Let her get in, get out, oh! What to do! Well, Izzy being Izzy, the cute, amazing, ...
