[Just a small note before we do get started ;  I had planned several posts throughout this year, and none of them made it too far past some rough drafts. However, I feel that now is a time to write something because I feel I'm in a place to do such a thing. I want to thank everyone who was reading and keeping up with me. I was reaching 250-300 views per post. I'm grateful for your time and energy to read what I post. Thank you. ] Where  to begin. I left you all in suspense with my show, Waiting For Godot, happening in early March. It was a success and was the experience of a lifetime. What It's Like To Not Get Szechuan Sauce

Image
Hey everyone! Welcome back to another post from yours truly, Ryan Hebert! If you're new here, welcome! It is a pleasure to have you here. If I could offer you a drink or a snack, I would, but this is over the internet so that is not very possible. If you have been here before, welcome back! Always happy to have familiar faces and readers to my blog! Now without further ado, let's get started! I think I decided to write this post for a couple reasons. The first reason being I have just gone through I big change in my life, and the second being that I went to go get Szechuan Sauce at Mcdonalds and it was all gone. The big life event actually has to do with my girlfriend. Now my Ex-Girlfriend. I hate to say that phrase but it is the truth. A relationship that was going 2.5 years and strong recently ended. I won't go into much detail as this is more of a private matter, but I do want to share how I'm feeling at this current time. Break-ups are no fun . Tru...

Adventure Is Out There (in Chicago)!

Image
Welcome back! I have a life update for all you curious readers! In the most recent months before I graduated high school, I had to audition for colleges, for next year. If you were wondering what major I'm going for, I'm going for theatre!!! And, if you're wondering what the school I decided to go to, I chose to go blue, and go to DePaul University in Chicago! I'll be attending The Theatre School at DePaul University; a conservatory inside of a university. I'm ecstatic about attending in september, and I hope to keep writing blog posts while I'm there. To keep my sanity and to hopefully spread the word of what is to be a fantastic college experience. I chose to do a BA instead of a BFA during my initial application process. In the end I've decided to do a BFA at DePaul. Anyways, for the longest time,  I thought I was going to be doing a BA, so I applied to Boston College, The Juilliard School, New York University,  Sarah Lawrence College, University of ...

I eat Ham, and Jam, and SPAMALOT!

Image
Hello all you wonderful people!!! Welcome back to my blog. Today I am speaking on the behalf of a show I am currently in named “Spamalot”.  if you are not familiar with the show, here is a little background on it. " Monty Python's Spamalot   is a  musical comedy  adapted from the 1975 film  Monty Python and the Holy Grail . Like the film, it is a highly irreverent parody of the  Arthurian Legend , but it differs from the film in many ways."( Wikipedia ) I plan to have photos up from the production process when the show goes up. I will be playing the role of King Arthur, A legendary king who brings a bunch of nights together to form the Knights of the Round Table. King Arthur then proceedes to search for the Holy Grail and then finds that his Grail, metaphorically, is to put on a Broadway show.  The show is jam-packed with references from other musicals, A lot of vulgar language, and a lot of dick jokes. Seriously, a lot of dick jokes. Aside...

Summer is winding down, and also What did I learn at Walnut Hill?

Image
My Friends , I have returned. I have come back from the long 5 week voyage; with knowledge, passion and great memories. As you may currently know I was just away for 5 weeks at the Walnut Hill School for The Arts Summer Theatre program. In which I took classes on Dancing, Singing and Acting, and I was in 3 different productions at the same time. 2 musicals and 1 play. The summer program was a summer intensive program. The camp challenged an amateur actor such as myself to go to places, places that some people were even scared to go too. Some cried, some laughed. Most smiled and others frowned. Overall the summer program was amazing. The Productions I took part in were, Sweet Charity , Thoroughly Modern Millie , and a play called Gizmo. The musicals both had some rigorous dancing and great singing. The 1920's for Millie and the 1960's for Charity were the settings for the shows. Each show had its own unique style to it. What made the shows was the outstanding staff Walnut H...

Influential actors to meeeeee. (Tune to bohemian rhapsody plays)

Today, was a nice day for me. The morning started out sucking because no-one in the class could get the Greek drama play(Oedipus Rex: Episition 1). So all the humor that I had found was only funny to me. :( Anyways the day continued on to c block with a dismisses class and then onto a mile run, which i did not like since I had and still have sore quads from the dancing practice coming up at school. Anyways I do that and make t it all the way to the end of the day. Finally making it to the end of the day, where I go to my new accappella group. Anyways during the practice I started thinking about actors who deserve to be recognized for what they've done and how they've influenced me. One of my favorite actors, William Shatner, is an iconic character most famous for his appearance in Star Trek. He also has been very famous for his spoken songs(they're really funny and good!) anyways he was number 1. Number 2 was Will Ferrel. Will has been a key influence to me. His George bus...

A day of dancing?

Hey y'all it's Ryan and today I was by myself, wandering afterschool what to do until, I stumble upon my friends Sarah and Lily. Both good friends of mine, and all of us being obsessed in acting. They are both in the fall play, and yours truly did not try out. So whatever you do, stop reading, say some curse word at me then continue reading this. Once you have cursed at me we will get back to the story. So I find lily and Sarah in the auditorium and Sarah is dancing the audition piece for our winter musical, A chorus line. Now I wander in, and am invited to practice the dance onstage. Of course being in the shape that I am, I am not able to dance well, or at all. I get a little bit of it, but it's a challenging dance. Anyways I give up in the 1st five minutes of practicing and just start acting and singing to 70's disco music. This was not funny to others so I stopped right away. To sum it all up, I had a good time with friends but a bad time with dancing. Dance is my p...
