For all of you who do not know me, I am a current freshman at DePaul University, studying at the fabulous, The Theatre School. Thanks for stopping by to do a little bit of reading today! Let's get started! It is now Sunday, which means that Spring Break is coming to a close and that I am 10 weeks away from Summer! AHHH! So much to do in such little time, am I right? I am so sad that my freshman year is coming to a close, but I am so excited at the same time.  Chicago has been amazing, and I love DePaul so much! I also cannot wait to meet the new freshman that come in next year as freshmen. My hope is that I can get back to doing some shows next year since I will not have my mandatory crew assignment anymore. Now without wasting any more time, let's do this! Reaching for my goals Finals week is finally here at DePaul University and that means a couple things. First of all, it is the week before Spring Break and there is nothing I want more than to get through the upcoming stretch of a week. While I count myself lucky since I only have one in-class final, that means I have projects and papers galore. These projects allow me to tap into my creative side and get really interested in some topic of choice. Ultimately, I thought of what to write and I felt overdue on writing a play because I have not spent much time playwriting this quarter. Greetings, peoples of the universe! Welcome back to Acting in the Groove! I'm Ryan, and for all of you who have never read this blog before, welcome! Thanks for being here to do a little reading today. I am so excited to write about all of my experiences in the past months. So without further ado, let us get started!  After what seemed to be a long first quarter, I finally left for Boston at the end of November. I was finally ready to go home after a thrilling first quarter. Immediately after two days at home, my sleep schedule fell back into order and I was tired before 12 AM. It was a blessing and a curse at the same time. But most of all, I was brought together again with my darling Izzy. Hello friends! I understand that you may be auditioning for schools soon or applying for schools in such in your own college processes and I am here just to provide some insight on my experience with The Theatre School. I am currently a BFA Theatre Arts Student at DePaul University. Personally, I think of it as one of the most open and versatile degree's you can get here at The Theatre School. The first classes I have taken in my first quarter are: Intro to Production: Not your momma's production class! My class was taught by the one and only, Ernie Nolan. A man who just has so much under his belt, he really is just an impressive guy. In this class you learn about what it takes to create your own theatre company, and what is here in Chicago. This class keeps me informed and knowledgable about what is happening around me! Ernie is also just an engaging speaker and teacher. 10/10, I recommend this guy. Hello my friends! Welcome back to Acting in The Groove! My name is Ryan Hebert and I am so glad you are reading my post today! So if you already know me and have been keeping up with my recent activity, I am a current student at DePaul University, and I am almost done with my first quarter. First off, I never knew college could be so exciting. You never know what can happen. From chilling in your room one night, to being at a party the next. It is honestly insane how quickly stuff can change. The experiences i've had with my friends here are one's I will remember forever. I'd really love to share one of those fun experiences with you all today. It was a mild night in Chicago. About 8:30-9pm on a Sunday night. I walk down a street with some of my friends, near the DePaul campus, but off campus for sure. Hello friends! How are you? Thank you for coming back to my blog! For all of you who do not know me, my name is Ryan and it is a pleasure to be able to write for you today. Ryan B. Hebert (ME) as The Phantom of The Opera (2016) For all of you who do know me, I am alive, I swear to god, I am alive. I am now in my SECOND week of college, and I have to say, I am surviving quite nicely. Take a peek at a photo I took the other day on 9/11 University Hall in the mid afternoon on 9/11 I used a special filter to create the image, and I'm proud that I was able to take such a nice shot of the Quad, the area in the center of campus, and University Hall, the dorm in which I currently reside. I am loving my living arrangement. If you are a prospective college student, looking at DePaul as a serious option, then I recommend, University Hall, the the most social and inviting dorm on campus. On today's post, I talk about what happened during my day. So without further ado, here we go. This morning I left the house with my amazing girlfriend, Izzy, to go get breakfast. The day before we had gone to a nicer breakfast location. This morning, we were both good with some nice Dunkin Donuts. She had been recently given a ton of DD gift cards, so breakfast was on her this morning. The Dunkin Donuts location was extremely nice and cozy. We lucked out on sitting in the two black comfy leather chairs. We munched on our breakfast's, and then continued our day from there.  After Dunks, we headed to Walmart. She needed some lady things, and we both enjoyed going there. It gave us somewhere to go and something to do. You can do a lot in a Walmart, especially a Super Walmart. You can people watch, look at fun and cool items, and just have a good time with each other. After a trip to Walmart, we stopped at a local music store we had seen on the way to Walmart. All ...
